Construction of 10th Avenue to launch soon

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) will soon launch the construction of 10th Avenue in Islamabad, which will be funded under the PSDP by the Federal Government.

The 7.6 Kilometres long 10th Avenue project plan submitted by the CDA was approved by the Central Development Working Party CDWP.

The project with a PC-1 cost of Rs11078.000 million will be constructed in three phases and is scheduled to be completed in three years.

Under the phase-I, the construction work will be carried out from Kashmir Highway to Service Road (N) I-9/I-10, costing Rs3901.225 million.

The construction work starting from Service Road North I-9/I-10 to IJP Road will be completed in phase-II, worth Rs3451.225 million.

The work on the third phase will start from Kashmir Highway extending to Khayaban-e-Iqbal, costing Rs3725 .550 million.

The residents of I-10, H-10, I-9, H-9, G-10 and F-10 are to benefit from the construction of the 10th Avenue.

In addition, the capital will witness the ease of traffic congestion on Faqeer Appi Road and 9th Avenue due to the construction of 10th Avenue.

The project will also include the construction of an overhead bridge at Margalla Railway station, establishment of underpasses at G-9/G-10, H-9/H-10, I-9, I-10, F-9, F-10, Jinnah Avenue and Ibn-e-Sina Road, an Interchange at Kashmir Highway and at IJP Road, box culvert/nullah bridge, and the rehabilitation and resettlement of the slums in Sector H-9.
