Construction of 35,000 apartments approved by LDA

LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) granted approval to construct 35,000 apartments for government employees, in accordance with the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP).

The project titled ‘LDA City Naya Pakistan Apartments’ was announced in a meeting presided over by LDA Vice Chairman SM Imran.

Under which, five categories of flats with different covered areas and height would be developed.

The plan of the LDA City Housing Scheme was modified to carry out the initiative. The announced project will spread over an area of 8,000 Kanal land, located in village Halloki.

Before endorsing the project, the layout plan of the area and the design of these residential units were ratified by the authority.

In a bid to encourage constructional activities and cater the people, the authority will grant provisional approval of building plans of residential buildings, up to three floors without pillars, while submitting building plans.

In addition, the decision will remain in practice for a period of six months.
