ISLAMABAD: The federal government, on Wednesday, announced that Rs10 billion have been earmarked for the development of rural areas of Islamabad.
The decision was reviewed in a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The meeting announced that the funds would be utilised on key aspects such as solid waste management, construction of roads and improving the sewerage system in the federal capital.
The Prime Minister further directed the relevant authorities to expedite the construction of the Bhara Kahu Bypass.
Third-party validation of all projects was also recommended by Mr Sharif.
As per further details, instructions were given to officials to resolve the parking issues in the city. Transport problems were also highlighted and remedial measures were discussed.
