ISLAMABAD: A sovereign guarantee of Rs6.94 billion for constructing the Sialkot-Kharian Motorway project worth Rs43.3 billion has been approved by the Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet (ECC).
The construction of Sialkot (Sambrial) – Kharian Motorway has been approved on a Build-Operate-Transfer (BoT) basis by the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) at the cost of Rs43.383 billion – including a share of Rs19 billion of the GoP and Rs24.309 billion of the concessionaire share.
The Motorway will comprise a 69km long road, with a 4-Lane Access Controlled Facility, and will be completed in 2024, under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP).
The authority also approved a Viability Gap Funding (VGF) of sum Rs10.9 billion under the federal PSDP.
