Federal govt announces historical development package for Jhelum

JHELUM: Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting on Thursday stated that the government has given a green signal to the unprecedented development package for Jhelum District.

The federal minister unveiled the development package in a meeting with the members of the press club. 

According to the details, the federal government has approved the construction of the Lillah-Jhelum Dual Carriageway and Canal for the people of the district.

In the meeting, the federal minister also apprised that the Islamabad-Kharian Motorway tender has also been published, and construction will commence soon.

Upon completion, he claimed that the travel time between Jhelum and Islamabad would be shortened to 50 minutes.

He was also of the view that the Lillah-Jhelum Dual Carriage Way, which connects Karachi, South Punjab, and Central Punjab with Kashmir, will become the most important route/highway/motorway in Pakistan, he stated.
