RAWALPINDI: The Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) has been awarded the contract for the Ring Road Rawalpindi (RRR) project worth Rs22.8 billion.
The contract was awarded after FWO emerged as the lowest bidder after submitting a budget of Rs300 million less than the project’s estimated cost and was accepted by the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA).
The bids for the project were opened after only governmental organisations were declared eligible to construct the project.
The mega project comprises a 38.3km long main carriageway, commencing from Baanth (N-5), concluded at Thallian (M-2). In addition, several Special Economic Zones (SEZs) will also be set up along the project.
