Govt announces 12,400 low-cost apartments for Kachi Abadi residents

ISLAMABAD: While chairing a meeting of the National Coordination Committee for Housing, Construction, and Development in Islamabad, Prime Minister Imran Khan announced 12,400 low-cost apartments provided with all basic facilities for Kachi Abadi residents in Islamabad.

According to the meeting, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Naya Pakistan Housing Authority (NAPHDA) will provide subsidies for these flats, with monthly instalments starting from a bare minimum.

According to the details, there has been an increased demand for commercial bank loans, with applications for loans amounting to Rs. 6 billion rupees received in the last two weeks. The government has given citizens loans worth Rs38 billion to construct their own homes. 

The Prime Minister emphasised defining the city boundaries, preventing unplanned expansion, and enacting strict legislation to stop illegal construction.

Furthermore, he stated that an international-standard cricket stadium would also be built in Islamabad.
