Historic Shah Allah Ditta caves to be developed by CDA and Capital Administration

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has advised the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration to develop the historic Buddha Caves in Shah Allah Ditta which is considered one of the haunted places in Pakistan, in collaboration with the National History and Literary Heritage Ministry.

Islamabad Chief Commissioner Amer Ali Ahmed, who holds the acting charge as CDA chairman, confirmed that in order to promote tourism. CDA and ICT administration will carry out civil work in the area and ensure the provision of other amenities.

While the archaeology department will deal with the preservation and uplifting of the site.

The caves withhold Buddhist murals that are around 2,500 years old, as dating back to the Stone Age. Archaeologists informed that the caves and rock shelters were first brought into use by humans during the Stone Age, and over the time the caves have been used in various eras.
