ISLAMABAD: The expansion work on Islamabad Expressway from Korang Bridge to G.T. Road will be launched in two phases.

The first phase will be initiated after hiring a government company.

In this regard, a meeting of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Board chaired by Chairman CDA Mr. Amer Ali Ahmed decided to award the contract of the expressway under Rule 42(f) of the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) rules. According to this, two government contractors, including Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) and the National Logistics Cell (NLC), will be hired.

Out of the 9km road project, a sum of Rs2 billion has been earmarked to construct the 2km portion. In contrast, the remaining amount will be built by utilising funds requested under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).
