KP cabinet approves low-cost housing scheme

PESHAWAR: The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) cabinet, on Monday, gave the go-ahead for a low-cost housing scheme for the deserving people of the province.

The meeting was presided over by Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan. The CM was briefed regarding the scheme under which the government would give a subsidy of  Rs300,000 on each plot. The eligible applications are those having a monthly income of less than Rs50,000 per month. The return plan for the scheme is ten years. 

As per sources, a high-level cabinet committee was formed to identify the real estate properties at the disposal of the government for utilisation within the housing schemes. 

The cabinet further directed the housing, local government and revenue departments to begin the execution process in the Charsadda district.
