Lahore’s first dedicated technology zone – TechPura, to be set up

ISLAMABAD: The Punjab government has approved Lahore’s first Special Technology Zone (STZ) – TecPure, worth Rs25 million, sprawling on 100 acres, under the Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2021-22.

The approved project aims to improve infrastructure and ease of doing business and provide enterprises special financing, tax advantages, and talent access.

The Punjab Information and Technology Board (PITB) will facilitate the ICT industry and the Punjab government to establish nine STZs across the province.

The PITB has listed several advantages for national and international Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) entering Pakistan’s technology zones, including designated space and other incentives to all technology verticals for SMEs, start-ups, incubators, freelancers, multinational companies, business process outsourcing BPO services, IT-enabled services (ITeS), and chip design centres, among others.
