LAHORE: Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has sought to set up an interdepartmental body to devise a drawn-out answer for the traffic mess in the city.
LDA Vice Chairman, SM Imran, in a meeting held on Wednesday revealed this news.
He also discussed the increasing prevalence of traffic issues in Lahore. He mentioned that TEPA, LDA and related offices should respond to these issues urgently by devising sound policies and proper planning.
He informed that a committee would soon be formed to formulate long-term policy solutions to curb traffic issues in the city. The committee will constitute representatives from NESPAK, city police and other relevant agencies, he added.
He further maintained that the committee would conduct a detailed study upon the growing problems of traffic jams, road accidents, missing signboards, pedestrian issues, the feasibility of roads and others. It will also publish its report to raise awareness and inform the committee’s policy decisions and planning.
