As per the directions of the Supreme Court (SC) making ‘Master Plan’ a separate authority independent form the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) is under framing. Once finalised, the legislation will be presented before a committee. It will then be sent for approval by the cabinet.

Reports for four subcommittees established by the CM were also presented at the meeting. Further briefings include the declaration of 1600 buildings as heritage by the SC. These would be included in the proposed Master Plan Authority.

Minister Saeed Ghani also expressed the need for alternatives to be provided to those affected by the anti- encroachments drives setup on orders of SC.

The meeting was attended by Director SBCA Mushtaq Soomro, DG SBCA Iftikhar Qaimkhani, CEO Heritage Foundation Asad A. Khan, Chairman Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners Dr Mir Shabbir Ali and more.
