The consultancy firm will be engaged to resolve matters regarding unauthorised buildings on private land and issuance of no-objection certificate (NOC) for buildings where construction is not allowed.

Earlier, an experts committee was formed by the government in December 2018, which drafted a report to address the existing issues including building bylaws. The revision was to be finalised by a professional consultancy firm that is yet to be hired.

Addressing this issue, CDA spokesperson Syed Safdar Ali explained that as per the notification of cabinet, the CDA was supposed to receive a Request for Proposal (RFP) document to hire firms vetted by the Planning Commission before calling for bids.

Furthermore, he said that the authority is waiting for the approval from the Planning Commission as RFP documents were recently shared with them. The invitations for bids will be sent as soon as they receive the go-ahead.

After finalizing a firm, the revision of the master plan is expected to complete in the next two years.
