More infrastructure uplift projects launched in merged tribal districts

Peshawar: Another three uplift projects have been inaugurated in Kurrum, Khyber and South Waziristan tribal districts. The inaugural ceremonies were attended by representatives from the district administration office, local formations, tribal elders and community members.

Standing at a total cost of Rs7.6 million, the schemes have been funded under German government and KFW-financed “Reintegration and Rehabilitation of TDP’s in newly merged districts (RRP-TDP)” project.

The project has been built by Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP).

A 7000 gallon water tank water supply scheme in a village in South Waziristan will be installed. Other two include a 5000 gallon water tank in Kurram district and 7000 gallon water tank in Khyber district. The project is expected to benefit a total of 235 households.

Kurram Deputy Commissioner Shah Fahad, SRSP Head, Syed Awlad Hussain, and Community based organization President Syed Zawar Hussain have appreciated the efforts of maintaining and sustaining the scheme.
