NLC, FWO main contenders for development of C-14 and C-15

ISLAMABAD: Officials of the Capital Development Authority’s Engineering Wing said that the work in the residential sectors C-14 and C-15 will be initiated either by National Logistics Cell (NLC) or Frontier Works Organisation (FWO), as per the decision of the civic agency.
The two sectors are located at the foothills of Margalla Hills along the length of Margalla Avenue.

Recently, the officials reported that the lowest bid was deposited for C-14’s development by NLC. The bid deposited by NLC was around Rs1.5bn whereas the estimated cost for this sector is Rs1.33bn.

A CDA official stated, “Soon we will accept this bid to get development work of this sector started.” He added that meanwhile the file work for awarding a contract, worth over Rs1.1bn, of C-15, was almost complete and CDA would soon call bids from government contractors.

He further added that the construction of streets, drainage, water supply and so on will be carried out in C-15, and the construction of a service road is already in work, which is being executed by a private contractor.

Another CDA official stated, “After engaging a government contractor – FWO or NLC – development work of these two sectors would be completed in record time.”
