Operation to implement social distancing launched by ICT, CDA

Islamabad: The Islamabad Capital Territory Administration (ICT) and Capital Development Authority (CDA) have launched a joint operation to remove encroachments and handcarts from the vicinity in a bid to avert the spread of COVID-19 and implement social distancing.

As formal instructions were issued, the Enforcement Directorate, Market Committee of ICT, Officers of ICT Administration, Islamabad police and other relevant departments are also participating in the initiative to carry out the operation.

This operation will be continued for the next two weeks to completely remove all the encroachments on the footpaths.

In addition, the handcarts will be relocated to an open space, outside the sabzi mandi to maintain the recommended social distance.

Moreover, the authorities have also planned to install sanitizing walk through gates at multiple locations.
