Package of Rs500 billion for uplift of Malakand division

Timergara: In a multi-party conference organized by the Jamaat-i-Islami at Chakdara Fishing Hut and chaired by JI leader MPA Inayatullah, the leaders demanded an Rs500 billion special package for the districts of Malakand division while also allocating adequate funds for mega development projects in Dir, Chitral and Malakand and including those districts in China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.

The leaders said that war-torn districts also affected by floods and earthquake need to be made a part of ADP. They also pressed on making Malakand division a tax-free zone as taxes are still being collected whereas the government exempted taxes for five years.

The conference also demanded the government approve the expressway from Chakdara to Chitral and an early release of funds for Talash and Chakdara bypass roads including funds for Timergara Medical College, Engineering University in Upper Dir and the University of Chitral.

The meeting was attended by member National Assembly from Chitral, Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali, General Secretary of Awami National Party Mian Iftikhar Hussain, former provincial chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl Maulana Gul Naseeb Khan, Mohammad Anwar Khan of Qaumi Watan Party, Nawabzada Mehmud Zeb of Pakistan People’s Party, Jahanzeb Khan of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Malik Azmat Khan, Sahibzada Tariqullah, Sahibzada Mohammad Yaqub, Izazul Mulk Afkari, district nazims Sahibzada Fasihullah, Mohammad Rasool Khan and others.
