1. Shakarparian National Park

 

Located in the middle of scenic views is the Shakarparian National park. It is a national park and an amusement park located near Zero Point, Islamabad. The park has also housed some of the most famous tourist attractions in Islamabad including the Pakistan Monument and Pakistan Monument Museum.

The old Gakhars tribe leaders settled here before the Indo-Pak partition in 1947; later the clan was relocated to create a park for the newly marked federal capital of the country in 1960-61.

Another interesting thing about the park is that this is the point where the Parade ground is located which hosts the Pakistan Day Parade every year on 23 March.

2. Kachnar Park

It is one of the best parks in Islamabad which is also famous among the masses for its excellent jogging tracks. It is perfect for health-conscious people who are looking for a peaceful and safe place for daily walk/jogging. 

It is right next to the Islamabad expressway, situated next to the I-8 sector. The park has almost 2.2km of jogging as well as a cycling track. There is a dedicated exercise area in the centre of the park with some benches & bars for normal daily exercises. Also, there are benches available for sitting, with and without shade as well. Toilet facilities are available as well.

3. Fatima Jinnah Park

 

Fatima Jinnah Park also known among the masses as Capital Park or F-9 Park is a public recreational park. This is one of the biggest parks in Pakistan and is spread across the whole sector F-9.

 At 304 hectares (750 acres), it is just smaller than New York’s Central Park. It was designed by Michael Japero, and it was inaugurated in 1992.

Apart from green patches and wildlife sanctuary, the park is also known for its recreational activities. It has a Megazone complex, which includes a sports zone with a standard-length swimming pool in Islamabad and tables for table tennis and snooker.

The complex also includes facilities for bowling, arcade games, laser tag, and other games; areas for fast food and dining; and an assortment of shops for clothes, DVDs, and other items. 

The park also Mc’donalds within the vicinity which means you can enjoy your favourite meal after a stroll in the park.

4. Marghazar

 

Marghazar Zoo also known as the Islamabad Zoo is one of the best places to visit in Islamabad. It is an 82-acre (33 ha) zoo in Islamabad Capital Territory. It was opened in 1978 and is under the administration of the Capital Development Authority of Pakistan.

The zoo started in 1978 as a refuge for leopards, spotted deer, and Indian gazelle found in the region. Right next to the zoo is the Japanese Garden. It is a perfect place for kids because of the variety of swings and recreational activities found over there.

Rose and Jasmine Garden is a public garden located within the recreational area of Shakarparian near Sports Complex Aabpara, on Kashmir Highway in Islamabad, Capital Territory, Pakistan.

It is a beautiful patch known for its colourful aura and a wide variety of flowers and shrubs. As the name suggests, the dominant species of flora found in the garden are roses and jasmines. The garden runs under the administration of the Capital Development Authority.
