ISLAMABAD: In a bid to promote the IT sector, Prime Minister Imran Khan has stressed setting up Special Technology Zones (STZs) and directed relevant authorities to finalise a timeline-based strategy.
He further informed of the government’s plan for the expansion of the sector through engaging IT experts and freelancers in this regard.
The IT sector can generate foreign exchange worth $5 billion. However, the government is working to tap the true potential of the sector by overcoming challenges including a lack of proper planning and strategies through defining short, medium and long-term policies and establishing STZs.
