PM Imran Khan approves Nullah Lai expressway project worth Rs75bn

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan approved the long-awaited 16.6km long Nullah Lai Expressway project which will be completed at the cost of Rs75 billion.

The project is aimed at preventing the city from urban flooding and solving the commuting issues of residents of Rawalpindi.

According to the details, the Prime Minister also issued the directives for completing the zoning of the area and amending the bylaws so that multi-storey and commercial buildings could be constructed.

While speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister was of the view that the project is significant for the development of Rawalpindi. He also added that the Ring Road project and Nullah Lai expressway will enhance the investment and economic opportunities of the city.

The project will be completed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP), announced the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), in the 52nd meeting of (RDA) Governing Body chaired by RDA Chairman Tariq Mehmood Murtaza.
