The premier issued the directives while chairing a meeting with his economic team, saying that as many as 40 industries are affiliated with the construction sector, therefore it was imperative to address their problems on priority basis.

He further said that the removal of bottlenecks that are creating hurdles for builders has a high place on the government’s agenda to achieve its goals for development and employment.

Meanwhile, Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme Chairman Lt Gen (retd) Anwar Ali Haider shared the issues being faced by contractors besides giving an overview on the progress of measures that have been taken so far to increase construction activities.

The chairman added that work was being carried out to utilise the unused land of various ministries for construction of houses for low-income groups, to which the PM responded by asking him to step up the process.
