Provincial govt. launches development projects in Karachi

KARACHI: To improve infrastructure, the provincial government launched several development projects across the city – including Central, West, Lyari of South and Keamari.

The approved projects include the dualisation of Hawksbay Road, including rehabilitation of the existing 5.59km carriageway from Machhli Chowk to the KANUPP project worth Rs840 million. The project is scheduled to be completed by December 2022.

The two other projects approved include the construction of road from Sher Shah Chowk to Mirza Adam Khan Road intersectbuildingtruction of storm-water drain worth Rs439.680 million.

Under another scheme approved, three roads – 1.75km Tannery Road (26 to 30 ft. long dual track, with a stormwater drain on both sides), 2.5km Chakiwara Road 30 ft. long dual track, and stormwater drain and streetlights), and a 6km Mehrab Khan Essa Road, Lyari will be construcat the cost oft of Rs995.461 million.

In this regard, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah visited the project sites at Lyari, Sher Shah Road and Hawksbay. While inspecting the projects, he directed the authorities to ensure timely and quality completion of projects.

Administrator Karachi Murtaza Wahab, Secretary Local Government Najam Shah and other relevant officials accompanied the CM.
