Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has taken action against various illegal commercial buildings in the Civil Lines area. The Enforcement Squad of the RDA conducted operations against these illegal structures, including Plot No. 8, Plot No. B-10, Plot No. 11, Plot No. 39, Plot No. 17, and Plot No. 17-A, as well as Plot No. 38. These actions were taken under Section 39 of the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976, targeting unauthorized commercial constructions.
An RDA spokesperson stated that these commercial buildings have been sealed, and notices have been issued to property owners. The owners of these sealed properties were found to be in violation of approved plans and maps.
In addition to contravening the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976, they were also found to be in violation of the RDA Building and Zoning Regulations 2020 by constructing illegal buildings without proper approval and NOCs.
