The proposed project stands at an estimated cost of Rs26.60 million stretched at a length of 32km.  Rawalpindi Ring Road will originate from the Channi Bridge on Grand Trunk (G.T) Road close to Rawat and terminate at Thalian Interchange  of Motorway (M-2). Two links suggested for the links include one from Rawat Junction at G.T Road to proposed Ring Road across DHA with a stretch of 8.82km. The other is the dualization of the exiting link of Fateh Jang Road  from M-1 to G.T Road at a length of 6.50 km.

While the project proposal is under preparation, Rao Atif has directed to consider the recommendations of basic facilities, education city, economic zone and housing schemes in the project.

RDA has directed illegal housing societies to stop advertising their projects. RDA Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) have issued respective notices and RDA has been asked to take action.

Compromise on the rules while approving private housing projects and building plan stays unacceptable. Citizens should not invest in any illegal housing society without a status check from the RDA website, said the chairman.
