RAWALPINDI: As per recent developments, the contract for the Rawalpindi Ring Road project will only be awarded to a governmental construction company, including NLC, FWO and NC.
The work on the project – scheduled to be completed within two years, will be launched by mid-April, after a public hearing session by the Punjab Environmental Protection Agency (PEPA) to minimize its implications on the environment.
The construction of the 38km long road project – worth Rs23bn, will commence from Bandh, near GT Road, Rawat, as per the design submitted by NESPAK.
The project is aimed to resolve matters pertaining to traffic experienced by the commuters. In addition, the project will also feature economic zones set up along the road constructed.
