ISLAMABAD: On Monday, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) said it had registered 2,354 new companies in March 2022.
This has raised the total number of registered firms to 165,688.
The regulator said that the total capitalisation with regards to newly incorporated companies for the ongoing month stood at Rs3.5 billion. It is pertinent to state that foreign investment was reported in about 53 new companies during March. Moreover, nearly 63 percent of companies were registered as private limited companies, whereas 34 percent were single-member companies.
The remaining 3 percent of companies were registered as public unlisted companies, trade organisations, not-for-profit associations, and limited liability partnerships (LLP).
The construction and real estate development sector took the lead with the incorporation of 458, trading with 258, information technology with 365, education with 110, services with 232, and food and beverages with 75.
