Smart cards to stop fraud in government housing societies of Punjab

Rawalpindi: Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency has initiated its campaign on computerizing record of all vacant plots and built houses in the government housing societies of Punjab.

Directors Town Planning from 36 districts all over the province have requested for data of owned properties from respective owners within two weeks. Once all record is computerized, owners will be issued smart cards with an applicable fee of Rs.4,176.

Smart cards will give owners access to their house records and subscription to SMS, ensuring control over safe property transactions while at home. The public however has requested for more time and a lesser fee to have their records computerized.
