KARACHI: The Sindh government is set to make the 21km-long Karachi Mobility Project – Yellow Line BRT Corridor – operational for the ease of the citizens.

As per sources, the project is initiated with the collaboration of the Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA), Transport and Mass Transit Department (TMTD) and the World Bank. 

The corridor will start from Dawood Chowrangi and end in Numaish. The BRT will have  28 stations, two flyovers, nine underpasses and two bus depots. It will facilitate 300,000 people in a day.

Moreover, the Yellow Line BRT will be completed for $USD 438.9 million and will comprise 268 diesel-hybrid vehicles. 

Minister for Transport & Mass Transit Department  Awais Qadir Shah stated that the uplift project was a welcome step to ease the traffic woes and improve the urban transport issue in Karachi.
