Make sure you have the necessary paperwork with you before applying for an IDP; otherwise, your application may be rejected. It is also required that the applicant must appear in person.

  • Copy of Pakistani driving licence (issued by Islamabad Traffic Police)
  • Copy of valid passport along with valid visa
  • Copy of CNIC of applicant
  • Proof of residence in Islamabad

Step-by-Step Process to Apply for International Driving Licence in Islamabad

To submit your application, follow the procedure listed below.

  • Complete your documents as mentioned in the section above.
  • Get a token and wait for your turn.
  • Submit all documents to the concerned person.
  • Obtain an e-receipt after paying the fee.
  • The application is then forwarded ahead for processing. You can collect your IDP on the date mentioned on the e-receipt.

Application Fee for International Driving Licence in Islamabad

The department accepts both regular and urgent applications. The application cost is PKR 500 if you pick the “regular” option, and PKR 1,050 if you select the “urgent” box.



The IDP application centre is open from Monday to Friday. The department’s hours are as follows:

  • Monday to Thursday: 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM
  • Friday: 09:00 to 12:00 PM
